Men's Wood Rings: The New Fancy or Just a Fad?
If you are just barely starting to shop around for a men's wedding ring, you are definitely in luck. There have never before been so many options of what material you can choose to have your ring made out of: white, yellow, or even rose gold, titanium, tungsten, platinum, palladium, cobalt, ceramic, and now...wood? A ring made out of wood doesn't quickly bring to mind all of the qualities that people normally look for when purchasing a men's wedding ring: durability, refinement, uniqueness, rarity, etc. Especially someone like me, who has had years of experience in personally servicing customers in selecting their very own wedding ring, I was very skeptical of any quality wedding band being crafted out of wood. The first image that comes to mind is a flimsy, cheap-looking wood ring that looks like some sort of souvenir you buy because you think it’s cool but end up never even wearing over time.
To say the least, I was blown away when examining the quality and durability of some of the new wooden rings that are currently available in the market. The key is to find a reputable retailer or designer who spends the time and resources required in manufacturing a truly unique and precious wooden ring. These rings aren’t the typical wooden rings that you might be thinking of that are just pure wood with a rough inside the can be really uncomfortable to wear. Rather, the premium wood rings that I’ve seen are designed with a solid titanium or zirconium band that contains an inlay of some of the most rare and precious woods found in all the world. These rings have the comfort fit design that so many men want and have the looks and feel of sturdiness and durability. Looking for something unique? How about wearing a ring with a wood inlay that comes from some of the most exotic forests half a world away? Such woods as Honduras Rose, Jobillo, Mora Hardwood, Olivewood, Osage Orange Hardwood, Hornigo Negro Hardwood, Pink Ivory, Tamboti Hardwood, and Vitai Hardwood are available in customizing your own ring in either a titanium or zirconium setting.
Upon first hearing about these “new” men’s wooden rings I was very skeptical and automatically placed them in the “next fad” category. But I have to admit when I’m wrong and say that these wood rings, if designed correctly, are truly amazing and the next major innovation in the wedding ring industry. Men’s wooden rings are definitely considered as an optimal choice in selecting that ring that will look good and last forever. Make sure that you find one from a reputable designer and it’s always a good idea to ensure that they come with a lifetime warranty.
